Ordinary people doing extraordinary things.
Every time a Crossroader from Nova Scotia, B.C., Bolivia or Swaziland pack his or her bags and sets off, a powerful wave of change is set in motion. Over the past five decades, more than eight thousand volunteers from Canada and around the world have volunteered with Crossroads International.
Crossroaders, as our volunteers are known, invest their time, skills and energy to work for a more just and equitable world. In the process, many form friendships that last a lifetime. Whether they are helping develop plans for marketing fair trade products or working to bridge the digital divide, they are adding their voice to a global call for social change.
Today, Crossroads' volunteer positions are part of long term development projects. The efforts of one volunteer build on the work of volunteers who have gone before them and set the stage for future collaborations. Placements are designed with our partners to meet the needs of their community and ensure long-term sustainability. The result? Enhanced programming at the local level, stronger communities and an impressive network of committed global citizens around the world working for change.
