The Flat Leader Photo Petition

What is a Flat Leader exactly?

Flat Leaders are a lighthearted way to get supporters’ messages to G8 leaders and have some fun with friends at the same time. Artist renditions of all G8 leaders will be available on the At the Table Official Website.

In part inspired by the very successful Flat Stanley Project an award-winning educational program created by Canadian educator Dale Hubert, Flat Leaders give people a chance to bring G8 leaders to their own tables—wherever they are. Supporters take creative, fun photos with the leader of their choice and upload these with messages on a public message board (a Flickr site).

At the Table will deliver these messages to leaders before the G8 summit and use them in media and public stunts. Flat Leaders can also be brought into local group events, including dinners and media photo-opps. The idea is to have fun with the concept, but the basic message is that citizens are watching leaders’ actions at the summits and beyond.
